Fernando & Kaci’s Dripping Springs Engagement Session

Fernando & Kaci’s Dripping Springs Engagement Session

I am so excited to share with you guys a true “Texas Hill Country” enagement shoot!  I met Kaci last year when she graciously shared her talents and did hair & makeup for our Tuscany in Texas wedding photography workshop models and remember hearing about her really awesome boyfriend….who 8 months later asked her to be his forever!  I sent Kaci a facebook congrats (all the exlaimation points!!!!) and was so excited when she contacted me to capture their love story and engagement photos at one of her favorite locations – a horse ranch in the hill country with her horse Izzy!  I had a great time meeting all the horses, meeting their other fur babies (3 doggies!) and of course, meeting Fernando!  It’s easy to see these two make each other smile and Fernando puts such a light in Kaci’s eyes and makes her laugh so easily and genuinely!  Wishing you two a lifetime of laughter and adventures together! Thanks for having a great afternoon with me in Dripping Springs!!  – Jessica Tell us in a few sentences how you two met! Fernando and I met at a friends Halloween party. We were both dressed up, myself as Edward Scissorhands the feminine versions of course lol I had always wanted to be him since I do hair and makeup after all. Nano got invited late to the party so he improvised and painted his face like a skeleton. I approached him to tell him how great his face paint was totally expecting him to say his girlfriend had done it…to my surprise he said he had done it...

Camp Lucy proposal – Caleb & Ali

Camp Lucy proposal – Caleb & Ali

Happy Valentine’s Day!!  What a perfect day to share this love story with you all!  I had the pleasure of working with Caleb to document the day he proposed to his future bride and asked her to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him!  Such an honor and an afternoon full of anticipation, joy and celebration!  Caleb designed the best surprise and I asked them both to chat with you all a little bit about their perfect proposal day at Camp Lucy!  Check it all out down below: 1) Would you recommend getting your proposal photographed to your friends after having experienced it? I would for sure recommend having your proposal captured. Ali and I have enjoyed looking through our photos and remembering the array of emotions that each of us felt during this special time. The photos are real and show the true happiness that engagement is supposed to be about. Plus Jessica made me feel at ease and was so great about capturing our special moments!  . 2) Caleb, you chose to keep the proposal part private between you two, can you talk more about that for future men thinking of proposing and having it photographed? I think that popping the question is an extremely intimate act, not to mention can be nerve racking. There is truly something special about being the only two in the room, when you ask that special question. After she says yes, the expression on her face is priceless and the pictures captured this so beautifully. . 3) Caleb, do you have any advice for men planning the perfect...
Neuschwanstein Castle Wedding Photos Part 2

Neuschwanstein Castle Wedding Photos Part 2

Fairy Tale castles are what dreams are made of right?? The ‘Mad” King Ludwig II had such a love for them he was also nicknamed “der Märchenkönig” (The Fairy Tale King)…..and his castle Neuschwanstein inspired one of my favorites, Walt Disney when he was designing Disneyland.  Getting to combine my love for wedding photography, sparkly crowns and castles was a dream come true.  Add to that beautiful sunshine, crisp white snow and an international love story and this bucket-list wedding photo shoot was a dream come true.  If you’re planning a visit, this website is great:  https://www.hohenschwangau.de For those that may have missed Part 1 (and the origin story) you’ll want to scroll back up and check it out: (http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/neuschwanstein-castle-wedding-photo-shoot) After shooting in the snow-covered field down below Neuschwanstein castle and Schwangau, we drove to park near the ticket center and prepared to hike, yes hike up a mud-covered road 5 kilometers up hill. To say that Manuel & Madison are rockstars is an understatement!  Add to that being in a wedding dress (and snow boots!) and it was 20 degrees AND she was wearing a tiara AND it took about 40min. I was impressed.  Sometimes the hike up the hill is worth it and we just kept telling ourselves how EPIC it was going to be!  That and all the tourists were saying hello, looking sideways and genuinely curious to see a princess bride walking up to the castle! What we weren’t prepared for when we finally made it to the top was for the entire front of the castle to be COVERED IN SCAFFOLDING. What.!?!?!?!  Crap.  No...
