Kayla

Kayla

My precious fur-baby, Kayla!  About a month ago we had a scare that kidney failure was going to take her away from us….and after 3 days in the vet hospital and lots of prayers and love at home, she’s hanging in there!   Her tail wags, she’s eating and drinking water again, is outside sunbathing and able to go up and down the stairs!  Such a miracle!  So, since today is National Dog Day (you knew that, right?!) here’s to sweet Kayla dog!  We had our friend Steven from Pearlsnap Photography come to the house to grab some photos of the 4 of us the day she went to the hospital….we then said our goodbyes, but thankfully it was only for a long weekend.  I’ll forever cherish the images below and am grateful Steven!  Thanks for capturing my sweet...
The best Wedding Photographer outfit – LuLaRoe Amelia Dress!

The best Wedding Photographer outfit – LuLaRoe Amelia Dress!

Hey friends! Mark your calendars!! I’m hosting an ONLINE LuLaRoe Party with my friend Beth San Miguel where you can shop with us on Aug 28th @ 7pm CST! We have a special VIP facebook group where Beth will post all of her inventory with a focus on my favorite dress to photograph weddings in – the Amelia!  If you would like to be added to the shopping event please let me know via email/facebook/instagram/text/whatever….OR Join here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/LuLaRoeBethSanMiguelVIP/ About 6 months ago, I found an all black Amelia dress to wear to wedding in and I. Fell. In. Love.   For my wedding photographers out there, this all black one has been amazing and is a size SMALL.  I am 5’6″ and ok internet…after baby, I’m holding steady at 140.  The stretchy-ness of the fabric and POCKETS really hides the last bit of baby bump mush, so 5 stars in my book!   Seriously, it’s a great investment and works wonders with a photo strap across the chest, no cleavage issues, it’s long enough to bend over and work in and did I mention – it has POCKETS.    Do yourself a favor and get one asap!!  Also…I’m a huge fan of the butter leggings…seriously, I tried on my sister-in-laws and they’re just amazing!  I’ve also been told the Madison skirt is just like the Amelia with pockets! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out!! We’ll see you on Sunday for the online shopping!  It will be available for 24 hours so feel free to shop whenever!  Online shopping ‘rules’ below along with a sizing chart and some more information....
Pecan Springs Ranch – Texas Hill Country Wedding Venue

Pecan Springs Ranch – Texas Hill Country Wedding Venue

What a fun (slightly rainy) day I had at the Pecan Springs Ranch wedding Open House this past weekend!  The oh so talented team there and Paige Smith of Pure. Love. Style. brought together some amazing Austin wedding vendors and had a “Flamingo” themed event.  It was such a fun, creative, fresh theme that we all had fun incorporating into our tables.  For couples already getting married at Pecan Springs Ranch, it was a great opportunity to see how things could be set up as well as speak to preferred vendors!  It was also an awesome opportunity for new couples looking for the perfect venue to come check it out!  Here’s a look at a few photos of the reception (air-conditioned) room and table decor!  Thanks again PSR for having me – I’m looking forward to coming back in 2017 for some more amazing weddings! Lifestyle Head Shots in Austin – Maria

Lifestyle Head Shots in Austin – Maria

Meeting for iced vietnamese coffee and enjoying french macaroons while discussing gelato, prosecco and a mutual love for Disney sounds like the perfect afternoon in Austin, don’t you think? Top that off with a stroll through 2nd Street district and the Lamar Bridge for epic sunshine photos!  That’s exactly what I did last Friday when I met Maria for the first time to photograph her ‘lifestyle head shot’ photo shoot.  It’s officially my new favorite portrait session that developed after emailing with Maria about they type of photos she was looking for.  She found me via social media and I’ll let her speak to her ‘why’ for wanting these photos.  I hope these showcase the joy that radiates from her and I’m so grateful to have a fellow Cinderella & “all things Italy” fan here in Austin!  Bella Maria! Caio! 1) What was your motivation behind wanting lifestyle head shots? I wanted to have a special memory some of my favorite things to do and places to be in Austin, to share with my friends and family. I wanted to capture this beautiful moment that I’m living, and have fun! As they say in Italy, perchè no?  2) How did you decide on locations/backdrops/outfits you wanted? For the locations, I knew I wanted something like a cute café or restaurant and the view of downtown, which made me fall in love with Austin when I first moved here.  I shared this with Jessica and she proposed some locations, and after some conversation we decided on Elizabeth Street Café, Dolce Neve, 2nd Street and the Lamar bridge. Elizabeth Street Café is such a cute place,...
Adventures in Bavaria – Munich

Adventures in Bavaria – Munich

Three years ago when my hubby and I did our Trip Around the World, we were given 5 stops on our RTW flight options.  With one of my best friends living in Munich, Germany, we decided to use one of them to fly from Houston, Tx to Munich (The other 4 being San Juan, Costa Rica; Phuket, Thailand; Auckland, New Zealand and back to Los Angeles)  We then explored Europe for 5 weeks and made it back to Munich before flying off to Thailand!  During our last trip to visit we did a few touristy things like visit Neuschwanstein (the inspiration for Cinderella’s Castle) and drive to Austria to see the Swarovski Museum, and even shot an engagement session in Marienplatz Munich (which you can see here: Jacob & Kelsey), so this most recent trip it was a bit more low key and relaxing. (To view that trip, visit this blog: RTW-Germany). This trip to Munich, it rained 3 out of the 4 days I was there, so I hiked through the woods in the rain wearing Hunter boots, got to walk their precious pup Denny, made it to a few local beirgartens and the icing on the cake??? Wear a traditional Bavarian dress, a Dirndl!  I borrowed one of Anna’s dresses and we headed out on the UBahn to go downtown to grab a bite to eat and a lemonade beer (forgot what it’s called, but it’s delicious!).  I felt a bit odd mixed with people heading home from work and it wasn’t Octoberfest, but I was assured it’s totally normal.  Riiiight?!   Anyway, it was so much fun and...
