Three years ago when my hubby and I did our Trip Around the World, we were given 5 stops on our RTW flight options. With one of my best friends living in Munich, Germany, we decided to use one of them to fly from Houston, Tx to Munich (The other 4 being San Juan, Costa Rica; Phuket, Thailand; Auckland, New Zealand and back to Los Angeles) We then explored Europe for 5 weeks and made it back to Munich before flying off to Thailand! During our last trip to visit we did a few touristy things like visit Neuschwanstein (the inspiration for Cinderella’s Castle) and drive to Austria to see the Swarovski Museum, and even shot an engagement session in Marienplatz Munich (which you can see here: Jacob & Kelsey), so this most recent trip it was a bit more low key and relaxing. (To view that trip, visit this blog: RTW-Germany).
This trip to Munich, it rained 3 out of the 4 days I was there, so I hiked through the woods in the rain wearing Hunter boots, got to walk their precious pup Denny, made it to a few local beirgartens and the icing on the cake??? Wear a traditional Bavarian dress, a Dirndl! I borrowed one of Anna’s dresses and we headed out on the UBahn to go downtown to grab a bite to eat and a lemonade beer (forgot what it’s called, but it’s delicious!). I felt a bit odd mixed with people heading home from work and it wasn’t Octoberfest, but I was assured it’s totally normal. Riiiight?! Anyway, it was so much fun and I hope that someday I can make it back to celebrate Oktoberfest – it’s on my bucket list!! Wishing it wasn’t so far away or I’d hop back on a plane next month since you know, Oktoberfest is actually celebrated in September! Here’s a few iPhone photos of my visit, so enjoy and PROST!!
My flight to Germany…..I got to see these two! Rachel & Josh got married in November at Le San Michele and it was one of my favorite weddings of 2016! After seeing Josh at the airport gate, we played a little trick on Rachel that I had been hired to join them on their honeymoon. Too funny! Loved getting to run through Frankfurt with them as they continued on their journey to Paris! Congrats again you two!! <3
Prost!! Don’t worry, we split the beer and pretzel 🙂
I may or may not have done the Harlem Shake after this photo was taken…..you’ll never know.
My ‘American/German’ breakfast! Frosties and truffle salami coated in parmesean…with truffle brie!?!?!!
Love you Denny!!!! Sweetest pup who I miss…Anna, give him love for me!
He’s so German.
Some silly snaps I got from my boys that kept me smiling and laughing! Oh Snapchat filters, how we love you.
