Our favorite time of a wedding is getting ready to walk down the aisle. There is an sense of anticipation from everyone. But our favorite part about being asked to provide pieces for a wedding is knowing that in even a tiny way we became a part of someones best day of their life. What advice do you have for brides deciding on their vintage rental concept/design? Keeping it simple and true to your vision. Vintage/Boutique rentals are a way of topping off the overall design. Keep colors of furniture choices clean and add pops of color with pillows. Pull the colors for your design from your floral selection and keep to a three color maximum. By using vintage pieces in unique ways such as a trunk as a...
Lifestyle Head Shots in Austin – Maria

Lifestyle Head Shots in Austin – Maria

Meeting for iced vietnamese coffee and enjoying french macaroons while discussing gelato, prosecco and a mutual love for Disney sounds like the perfect afternoon in Austin, don’t you think? Top that off with a stroll through 2nd Street district and the Lamar Bridge for epic sunshine photos!  That’s exactly what I did last Friday when I met Maria for the first time to photograph her ‘lifestyle head shot’ photo shoot.  It’s officially my new favorite portrait session that developed after emailing with Maria about they type of photos she was looking for.  She found me via social media and I’ll let her speak to her ‘why’ for wanting these photos.  I hope these showcase the joy that radiates from her and I’m so grateful to have a fellow Cinderella & “all things Italy” fan here in Austin!  Bella Maria! Caio! 1) What was your motivation behind wanting lifestyle head shots? I wanted to have a special memory some of my favorite things to do and places to be in Austin, to share with my friends and family. I wanted to capture this beautiful moment that I’m living, and have fun! As they say in Italy, perchè no?  2) How did you decide on locations/backdrops/outfits you wanted? For the locations, I knew I wanted something like a cute café or restaurant and the view of downtown, which made me fall in love with Austin when I first moved here.  I shared this with Jessica and she proposed some locations, and after some conversation we decided on Elizabeth Street Café, Dolce Neve, 2nd Street and the Lamar bridge. Elizabeth Street Café is such a cute place,...

One Eleven East – Austin Event & Venue Open House

One Eleven East – Austin Event & Venue Open House

ONE ELEVEN EAST Est. 1893 | 2015 AN EVENT SPACE IN DOWNTOWN HUTTO, TEXAS One Eleven East is an adaptive reuse and modernization of the historic building at 111 East Street, which was built in 1893. While preserving the original architectural details, the property has been remodeled and thoughtfully designed to host weddings and other private events. The exposed brick, 15-foot ceilings, restored hardwood floors, beautiful arched windows and expansive main area with open layout offers a flexible and transformable venue capable of hosting any type of gathering. Located just 20 minutes northeast of Austin, One Eleven East provides its guests with both a downtown atmosphere through its urban loft interior, as well as a quaint setting away from the bustling crowds of Austin and into one of the charming storefronts that has lined East Street for over a century. For more information, visit the website: www.oneeleveneast.com or email: info@oneeleveneast.com ——- This past Sunday, I went to north Austin to old town Hutto to see what all the prettiness was all about.  I’ve been following 111 East for a month or so now on Instagram as they’ve remodeled and hosted workshops in the space.  It really is an ‘instagram’ heaven full of white, natural light and the availability to transform it into anything!  Plus, their grand reveal had some amazing Austin wedding vendors I’ve worked with or wanted to say hello to.  We were all so impressed with how owners Erika and Halton preserved the integrity of the old building while bringing a modern look and feel to it.  I was told they had Claire Zinnecker Designs come in and...
127th Rose Parade 2016

127th Rose Parade 2016

Find Your Adventure – The 127th Annual Rose Parade If you’re anything like me, I always enjoy watching the Rose Parade on TV on January 1st every year and have watching almost every year since I was a little kid.  The creativity, color, flowers and larger than life scale of the floats make it so much fun to watch.  About 7 years ago, Eric and I literally camped on the sidewalk in Pasadena along the parade route on Dec. 31st, counted down to the New Year and had a front row seat to the parade.  That idea now seems ludicrous and something only a non-parent, 25ish year old would do!  So…this year we decided to take Evan and the grandparents to see the floats in person during the Post-Parade viewing!  It was so great seeing them up close and if you ever have the opportunity, make sure to get there early when it opens as the crowd was ridiculous by noon!  Here are some of my favorites and a closer look for those of you who watched it on tv!  My favorites:  The Downton Abbey ‘Final Adventure” float, the Disneyland/StarWars/Millennium Falcon float, the LA Lakers basketball float, the Cabella’s animal float and South Dakota’s Mt. Rushmore float! My favorite…the incredible Downton Abbey Rose Parade float celebrating their final season! **The “road” is made with potatoes!** Now booking 2016 & 2017 Weddings in the Austin area/Texas and Destination! Austin Headshots – Lacey at Le San Michele

About 4 years ago, I got an email from this sweet, new photographer in Austin about starting her business and questions she had as she was studying photography in college.  I’m honored to say now that she’s been an assistant at a few Austin wedding with me and has been working hard shooting weddings (Lacey Seymour Photography) and working as a photographer for the Formula One racetrack with her business Seymour Sports.  I had a wonderful time at her photo shoot this past week to update her head shots!  She chose one of my favorite Austin wedding venues, Le San Michele that has such beautiful light inside and out…a photographer’s dream!  Her makeup was done by Shannon Nicole (vendor links/info at the bottom).  Thanks Lacey!
