Fernando & Kaci’s Dripping Springs Engagement Session

Fernando & Kaci’s Dripping Springs Engagement Session

I am so excited to share with you guys a true “Texas Hill Country” enagement shoot!  I met Kaci last year when she graciously shared her talents and did hair & makeup for our Tuscany in Texas wedding photography workshop models and remember hearing about her really awesome boyfriend….who 8 months later asked her to be his forever!  I sent Kaci a facebook congrats (all the exlaimation points!!!!) and was so excited when she contacted me to capture their love story and engagement photos at one of her favorite locations – a horse ranch in the hill country with her horse Izzy!  I had a great time meeting all the horses, meeting their other fur babies (3 doggies!) and of course, meeting Fernando!  It’s easy to see these two make each other smile and Fernando puts such a light in Kaci’s eyes and makes her laugh so easily and genuinely!  Wishing you two a lifetime of laughter and adventures together! Thanks for having a great afternoon with me in Dripping Springs!!  – Jessica Tell us in a few sentences how you two met! Fernando and I met at a friends Halloween party. We were both dressed up, myself as Edward Scissorhands the feminine versions of course lol I had always wanted to be him since I do hair and makeup after all. Nano got invited late to the party so he improvised and painted his face like a skeleton. I approached him to tell him how great his face paint was totally expecting him to say his girlfriend had done it…to my surprise he said he had done it...
Camp Lucy proposal – Caleb & Ali

Camp Lucy proposal – Caleb & Ali

Happy Valentine’s Day!!  What a perfect day to share this love story with you all!  I had the pleasure of working with Caleb to document the day he proposed to his future bride and asked her to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him!  Such an honor and an afternoon full of anticipation, joy and celebration!  Caleb designed the best surprise and I asked them both to chat with you all a little bit about their perfect proposal day at Camp Lucy!  Check it all out down below: 1) Would you recommend getting your proposal photographed to your friends after having experienced it? I would for sure recommend having your proposal captured. Ali and I have enjoyed looking through our photos and remembering the array of emotions that each of us felt during this special time. The photos are real and show the true happiness that engagement is supposed to be about. Plus Jessica made me feel at ease and was so great about capturing our special moments!  . 2) Caleb, you chose to keep the proposal part private between you two, can you talk more about that for future men thinking of proposing and having it photographed? I think that popping the question is an extremely intimate act, not to mention can be nerve racking. There is truly something special about being the only two in the room, when you ask that special question. After she says yes, the expression on her face is priceless and the pictures captured this so beautifully. . 3) Caleb, do you have any advice for men planning the perfect...

Garrison Family – Lakeway Texas Photo Shoot

It’s always a joy to see my friend and hairstylist (and fellow Austin/Hill Country wedding vendor) Ashley and her hubby Will and son Jax! We were able to take some updated family photos last week out in Lakeway, Texas and couldn’t have asked for a better day.  After a few postponed shoots due to weather, we were blessed with 65 degrees and the most beautiful evening sunlight! Ashley previously did an interview with me with some great advice for brides on how to best prep/book your wedding day hair and makeup.  So, if you or someone you know is getting married, you definitely want to check it out here: http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/austin-wedding-hair-makeup-ashley-garrison —— If you’re getting married or know someone who is (or who wants updated photos!!) Camp Lucy Sacred Oaks Engagement Photo Shoot – Cyrus & Lindsay

Camp Lucy Sacred Oaks Engagement Photo Shoot – Cyrus & Lindsay

This Houston-based amazing couple braved the Texas Hill Country’s “winter” wind storm last week and I’m so glad they did!!  We had their engagement shoot on the calendar and sometimes you just have to go with the flow when mother nature decides to give you a 30 degree wind chill and gusts of wind over 20 mph!  Cyrus & Lindsay handled it like the worldly champs they are (I on the other hand may have looked rediculous behind the camera with my hat/fingerless gloves, sweater, scarf and 2 jackets on!).  They’re getting married next fall at Camp Lucy’s beautiful Ian’s Chapel so we met over at the second wedding venue, Sacred Oaks to grab some photos of the two of them for their engaement photos!  It was a fun photo shoot and I always love getting to know my couples better and learning more about their love story!  So, in honor of that, I had Lindsay share with you all their amazing story of how they met (and reconnected!) along with a few other fun questions you can read below.  Also, shoutout to the amazing Celissa Rae for doing Lindsay’s hair and makeup! The airbrush makeup is such a treat and she looked flawless! Congratulations you two!  Thank you for having fun with me and making it look warm and wind-free?!?! How did the two of you meet? Cyrus and I actually met in grade school in Malaysia! We both spent most of our up-bringing abroad in Southeast Asia and Europe and reconnected in Houston about 3 years ago at a Christmas party hosted by mutual family friends. A...
Downtown Austin & Rainey Street Engagement Photo Shoot – Sarah & Derek

Downtown Austin & Rainey Street Engagement Photo Shoot – Sarah & Derek

Are you ready for an Austin engagement session full of butter coffee and craft cocktails on Rainey Street?  Sarah & Derek wanted an Austin engagement shoot that showcased some of their favorite things to do and that included playing with their precious dogs Ceasar and Emma at local coffee trailer, Picnik.  We also ventured to Rainey Street to Lucille’s where these two enjoyed a drink and chatted with me all about their love story!  I’m excited to share a bit more than just their photos….enjoy getting to know these two and how they met, how Derek proposed and a few more fun questions!  Congratulations you guys, I cannot wait for this summer and your wedding day!!!  Hugs!! ——- How did the two of you meet? Derek and I had been best friends for nine years. He finally got up the courage to ask my older brother (one of his best friends) permission to date me, after I let him know I was very interested. We have been together ever since. Why did you choose your engagement shoot locations? We both wanted to do photo’s doing things that we enjoy doing together in Austin. Since moving back to Austin in 2014, I have loved getting Butter Coffee from Picnik. After I started dating Derek, I got him hooked as well and we go to get a coffee several mornings a week together. We love taking our pups with us and we have made Fridays “Muffin Friday”. Our pups get one of their infamous Paleo Blueberry Muffins each Friday. This was the perfect spot for us to do pictures. The other location...
Laguna Beach Tower Photo Shoot – Tiffany & James

Laguna Beach Tower Photo Shoot – Tiffany & James

Epic photo shoot bucket list location #8 – Check!  I was so excited to be able to find this ‘princess/pirate’ tower located on the cliffs of Laguna Beach, California last week!  I spent 2 years living in Dana Point (just south of Laguna) and managed to never see this…..except in fellow photographer’s photos!  I’m so happy that I was able to watch the brilliant sun set over the Pacific Ocean while taking photos of Tiffany & James. We braved the chilly wind and enjoyed the salty, windy sea air!  It was wonderful being back in California again and I love that I get to go back a few times a year for special weddings!  Speaking of – I’m now booking 2017 weddings and dates are going fast for the spring/summer! I’m running a special for the month of December – all new 2017 weddings booked before the end of the year will receive a gorgeous, professional 16×20 high end canvas print from their wedding day as a FREE add-on!!
