Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Happy Anniversary to Shana & Chris!! I can’t believe over a year ago we were saying Aloha and celebrating their beautiful Honolulu Waikiki wedding day!  It was full of family, laughter and celebration and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to capture it for them!  Shana and Chris are from Hawaii and planned their wedding day while living in California. After a year of marriage, I asked these two a few questions for future couples out there planning their wedding day, especially for destination weddings and this is their advice: 1) What is the best advice that was given to you when you started planning your wedding? Don’t wait to book your venue. We had our hearts set on our venue and ended up moving our date because the date we wanted was already taken.   2) What is one thing you think every bride and/or groom should know that you learned while planning your wedding? Get a planner, especially if you are having a destination wedding. Having our wedding in Hawaii and getting a planner early on really helped us to stay on track and make sure that all of the little details that we didn’t know about, our planner was able to make sure was taken care of. Our planner made a strict timeline that we stuck to, from sending invites to booking vendors, and it really made everything go smoothly. Also, having a team there on the day of to direct all of the vendors gave us the chance to really sit back and enjoy the day.   3) What were your wedding colors and...

Louisville, Kentucky Wedding – Aaron & Angela Part 3 – Henry Clay Reception

Grab some sweet tea, pull up a chair and take a 10min. break to enjoy these fun Henry Clay wedding reception photos!! Angela & Aaron threw one heck of a party full of fun details, great music (yeah Chuck!) and some pretty epic dance moves!  It was such an honor spending the day in Louisville, KY with these two and their families and I feel so blessed as I look back on their day!  Wishing you two nothing but adventure and love! If you missed the first two blogs, make sure to scroll back up here after viewing these photos and then click here: Blog 1: http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/louisville-kentucky-wedding-aaron-angela Blog 2: http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/louisville-kentucky-wedding-aaron-angela-part-2 I love that the girls all changed into their comfy shoes for the reception!!  How fun (practical) is that?! Aaron & Angela’s enterance into their reception was so much fun!  They were surprised by Aaron’s lacrosse teammates lining the room with their lacrosse sticks! This first dance may literally ‘take the cake’.  It started off slow and unassuming, especially for two dancers…they threw off their family and friends by not doing anything.  That is until the music changed.  It was really epic and I cannot wait to see the video!! So many awesome chair-lifts!! This is what happens when the entire men’s lacrosse team is at your wedding?!?! We all got to enjoy an ice cream bar of Graeter’s Ice Cream! It was delicious!! The last song of the night was so special as all their family and friends gathered in a send-off circle! Congratulations Aaron & Angela!!!!! —————– VENDORS: Ceremony:  Louisville Seminary –  Caldwell Chapel            ...

Don’t stress over trying to make everyone happy, it’s your wedding and you can only do so much. 3) What were your wedding colors and is there a story behind why you chose them? Blush, ivory, and gold. No story behind them, I just love the elegance of neutral colors but I wanted a little bit of color so I added the blush. . 4) What’s your favorite detail you chose for your wedding that representing your love story? The vintage Rolls Royce & the red carpet because our love story is straight out of a hollywood film (minus the divorce part, lol). 5) How long did you have to plan your wedding day? 11 months. We got engaged July 2012, but we didn’t set a date or start planning until January 2013 and we were married in November 2013. . 6) Did you hire a wedding planner/day of coordinator?  Was it worth the expense?  YES!!!! Best decision of my life. My family and bridal party didn’t have to worry about anything the day of besides enjoying the day.
