Garden Grove Austin Wedding Reception – Josh & Brittany

I am so excited to share Part 2 of Brittany & Josh’s Garden Grove Austin wedding day! Their reception was beautiful and full of so many personal touches.  The bride and groom have been collecting/growing all the succulents and greenery in their home over the past year and created gifts for their family and friends out of the succulents!  I have mine on my dining room table and love it – and this couple!  Take a look at the gorgeous grounds of Garden Grove, a wedding and event venue in South Austin….and if you missed Part 1 of their beautiful Austin wedding day, make sure to scroll back up and click here:  http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/garden-grove-austin-wedding-josh-brittany Wishing you both a lifetime of adventures and happiness together!! xoxoxo   Jessica I love all the personal touches at the ceremony/reception – like the groom made this arbor and they both collected succulents to decorate with and provide as gifts to their friends and families! Garden Grove Austin Wedding – Josh & Brittany

Congratulations Josh & Brittany!!!  These two had such a sweet, beautiful wedding day surrounded by family and friends at one of my favorite Hill Country wedding venues, Garden Grove Austin!  The sun shone down, all the details fell into place and I got to be a part of a love story unfolding and am so grateful to have met these two only a few months ago while they modeled for my wedding photography workshop!!  Take a peek at some of my favorite photos below from Part 1 and make sure to come back in a few days for Part 2! (one of my new favorite ‘getting ready’ photos of Brittany peeking in on her dress just moments before slipping it on!) Who doesn’t want to twirl all day long in a dress this gorgeous!?! Cutest flower girls & ring bearer ever, am I right?!?! So many special pieces helped make up their wedding day….. the succulents were collected and planted for each guest & the decor by Brittany & Josh over the past year…. This gorgeous hand made sign was created by the groom and decorated by their close friend…. The lights were passed down by Josh’s grandpa who collected them. Congratulations Josh & Brittany!! Neuschwanstein Castle Wedding Photo Shoot

Neuschwanstein Castle Wedding Photo Shoot

Neuschwanstein Castle (German: Schloss Neuschwanstein, English: “New Swanstone Castle”[1]) is a nineteenth-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner. Ludwig paid for the palace out of his personal fortune and by means of extensive borrowing, rather than Bavarian public funds. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886.[2] Since then more than 61 million people have visited Neuschwanstein Castle.[3] More than 1.3 million people visit annually, with as many as 6,000 per day in the summer.[4] The palace has appeared prominently in several movies such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Great Escape and serves as the inspiration for Disneyland‘s Sleeping Beauty Castle[5] and later, similar structures. Ok, now that we’re all caught up on how epically amazing Neuschwanstein is, let’s dive into some of the back story of this amazing photo shoot Part 1: I woke up early Saturday morning in Munich and after packing a few essentials – like 3 tiaras in my bag, grabbing a handmade bouquet (more on that later), my ski pants and my photography equipment I headed for the main train station in Munich and bought a day pass to ride the local Bavarian train.  I had a 1.5 hour ride with one station change to visit the town of Seeg, the hometown of our groom, Miguel!  Madison (a native of Nebraska), met me...
Santa Barbara Anniversary Wedding Shoot – Jeanette & Justin

Santa Barbara Anniversary Wedding Shoot – Jeanette & Justin

If you’ve been following on social media (Facebook:  www.facebook.com/JFreyPhotography or Instagram: @jessicafreyphotography) you’ve seen some sneak peeks of this epic Santa Barbara photo shoot with Justin & Jeanette!  I was so excited to get an email from Jeanette when she knew I was heading back to California to schedule a special photo shoot in Santa Barbara that incorporated Knapps Castle and the beach.  We met up on a Freyday and spent 3 hours together first at the Biltmore Four Seasons, then to the beach to stuck our toes in the sand, and finally we drove the fun/scary drive up to the castle ruins in the mountains above Santa Barbara known as Knapps Castle.  This was my third trip to the epic and slightly hidden destination and it never fails to inspire me and provide the most dramatic views and sunset.  If you ever have a chance and are in the area, look it up and make the trek!  Here’s a look at part 1 of their photo shoot at the Biltmore Four Season and the beach.    Come back soon for part two full of Knapp’s Castle photos! Part 2 coming to the blog soon! —– Now booking Fall 2016 & 2017 Weddings in Austin, Texas and Destination! *I’ll also be back in Central California/Yosemite/Bass Lake June 30-July 9th and LA/Bakersfield for a week in November if you’re looking for a photo shoot! Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Happy Anniversary to Shana & Chris!! I can’t believe over a year ago we were saying Aloha and celebrating their beautiful Honolulu Waikiki wedding day!  It was full of family, laughter and celebration and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to capture it for them!  Shana and Chris are from Hawaii and planned their wedding day while living in California. After a year of marriage, I asked these two a few questions for future couples out there planning their wedding day, especially for destination weddings and this is their advice: 1) What is the best advice that was given to you when you started planning your wedding? Don’t wait to book your venue. We had our hearts set on our venue and ended up moving our date because the date we wanted was already taken.   2) What is one thing you think every bride and/or groom should know that you learned while planning your wedding? Get a planner, especially if you are having a destination wedding. Having our wedding in Hawaii and getting a planner early on really helped us to stay on track and make sure that all of the little details that we didn’t know about, our planner was able to make sure was taken care of. Our planner made a strict timeline that we stuck to, from sending invites to booking vendors, and it really made everything go smoothly. Also, having a team there on the day of to direct all of the vendors gave us the chance to really sit back and enjoy the day.   3) What were your wedding colors and...
