Whew!!! What a week we had in Italy! The last part of our trip was to visit Italy’s Amalfi coast and boy did it not disappoint. After a long day of train rides from Florence we made it to our hotel in Sorrento and explored the city and ate some incredible pasta at La Lanterna before getting a good night sleep for our boating adventure the next day! It’s a must do trip taking a boat to the ritzy island of Capri with the teal blue waters, fancy shops and possibly the best lemon gelato we’ve had! Our convertable taxi took us around the island and since he was a local…a Caprese just like the salad…he knew the best places to grab gelato and panoramic views! We ended up heading to Anacapri on the advice of other friends and rode the single person gondola to the very top and what a view! Enjoy some of my favorites of these three cities and thanks for joining our adventure!!

Capri is known for their Lemons….Limoni de Capri and boy were they delicious! The lemon gelato was so refreshing and perfect!
Our taxi took us over the ‘Mama Mia” road to Anacapri which looks over the edge and that first image at the beginning of the post is our view from up at the top!
After talking to several friends, we decided the single rider chairlift up to the top of Anacapri would be worth it! What a fun mode of transportation!
We had an amazing time on our boat around the island visiting the grottos and swimming in the Mediterranean!
We decided if our military husbands were to ever own a yacht, this would be it!
The Sorrento harbor from our boat….
Evanita!! I think it means little Evan in Italian?!?! No?
Our last day in Italy we took the local Circumvesuviana to Pompeii on our way to Naples and it was so surreal to see in person. I loved this capture of the main street with Mt. Vesuvius in the background…I’d always assumed the town of Pompeii was directly under the volcano, but there’s quite a bit of distance from it.
We had a 6am flight out of Naples to head back home but were able to enjoy the sunset over the city with Vesuvius looming in the background!
Thanks for joining me on our photo tour of Italy!! It’s a country that has my heart and I love that I’ve been able to visit again!
