127th Rose Parade 2016

127th Rose Parade 2016

Find Your Adventure – The 127th Annual Rose Parade If you’re anything like me, I always enjoy watching the Rose Parade on TV on January 1st every year and have watching almost every year since I was a little kid.  The creativity, color, flowers and larger than life scale of the floats make it so much fun to watch.  About 7 years ago, Eric and I literally camped on the sidewalk in Pasadena along the parade route on Dec. 31st, counted down to the New Year and had a front row seat to the parade.  That idea now seems ludicrous and something only a non-parent, 25ish year old would do!  So…this year we decided to take Evan and the grandparents to see the floats in person during the Post-Parade viewing!  It was so great seeing them up close and if you ever have the opportunity, make sure to get there early when it opens as the crowd was ridiculous by noon!  Here are some of my favorites and a closer look for those of you who watched it on tv!  My favorites:  The Downton Abbey ‘Final Adventure” float, the Disneyland/StarWars/Millennium Falcon float, the LA Lakers basketball float, the Cabella’s animal float and South Dakota’s Mt. Rushmore float! My favorite…the incredible Downton Abbey Rose Parade float celebrating their final season! **The “road” is made with potatoes!** Now booking 2016 & 2017 Weddings in the Austin area/Texas and Destination! Austin Engagement Photos – Cody & Simreet

Austin Engagement Photos – Cody & Simreet

Congratulations Cody & Simreet!!!  I’m soooo excited to share this one you guys….Cody and I have known each other since we were babies and after 15-ish years of becoming adults and going to school and living on opposite coasts we were able to meet up for his engagement session in Austin!  He and Simreet were in town from Boston for the holidays, so we chose the outdoors-y McKinney Falls State Park and were blessed with surprising 70 degree weather in late December.  I forgot how fickle Austin’s winter weather is, but I’ll take it!  It was wonderful meeting Simreet and you could tell instantly the deep connection these two had and how happy they were together, which just makes my job so much easier. Congratulations you two, it was an honor and so much fun spending the morning with you!  Way to go, Cody on an awesome engagement proposal story!  Enjoy your engagement and wedding planning….and some of my favorites below: Go Cowboys!  Tee hee…ok ok, Gronk is pretty awesome too..and Brady. ———– Now booking Austin/Texas/Destination/International Weddings for 2016! Wedding and Engagement Ring Photos

Wedding and Engagement Ring Photos

Some people get excited about College Football season (Gig’em Aggies!) or hunting season or a new season of So You Think You Can Dance (YES!!).  My fellow wedding vendor colleagues refer to this timeframe between Christmas and Valentine’s Day as Engagement season!  So many sweet couples get engaged over the holidays and I look forward every year to seeing which couples I’ll get to meet and be a part of their special day.  Since it’s the week of Christmas and it’s been an amazing year with last weekend being the last wedding of 2015 (Congrats Long & Tiffany!)  I’m taking off the next two weeks to celebrate with family and friends. With that in mind, I thought I’d create a blog post that could be useful for any of you ladies out there (or gentlemen) who are looking to see just what kind of engagement ring and wedding rings you’re looking for!  I know 12 years ago when I got engaged, the three stone ring was HUGE.  Now, gold is making a comeback as are pave settings and vintage settings!  I’ve gathered some of my favorite ring photos from the past 2 years to give you some help and inspiration! ** side note for my fellow photographers, all the detail photos are taken with my trusty Nikon 55mm manual focus film lens! Congratulations to anyone getting engaged!! If you or your friend is going to be planning a 2016 wedding, I would love to be recommended in the Austin area or you guys know I’m always up for traveling!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Love,   Jessica ——————...

Duchman Family Winery Austin Wedding Reception – Tiffany & Long

After a beautiful traditional vietnamese Buddhist ceremony, family and friends gathered in the vintage italian-esque reception hall to celebrate, dance, take photos and cheers the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Hoang!  We stopped in the wine barrel room to do a First Look with Tiffany in her gorgeous Maggie Sottero reception gown!  It was a fun reaction by her newly-minted husband and a great moment before the party began.  It was such a fun and memorable evening…here are a few of my favorites from their Duchman Family Winery wedding reception!
