I’m so excited to share with you this sweet Austin elopement story and am so thankful to have met these two who will forever hold a special place in my heart…and not just because within 5 minutes of meeting, I was the witness, bridesmaid and photographer, but they’re truly a special couple and we had a grand adventure navigating the SXSW streets of downtown Austin and even shed some tears together!
Kiley & Josh chose March 10th for their Austin elopement which is a special date because Kiley’s grandparents would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 10th and Kiley wanted to share the same wedding date. How special is that?! In honor of that, Kiley wore her Grandma’s ring on her right hand which was inscribed with their wedding date and had been custom made in Italy! The icing on the cake…. Josh surprised Kiley with a monogramed
The Mrs Box to display her ring in and this photographer’s heart was so happy to see it! She sent her grandmother flowers to celebrate the day and in remembrance of her grandfather who passed away a few years ago.
We started the afternoon meeting at
The Driskill Hotel where Kiley got ready with her maid of honor, her dog Daisy! She presented Daisy with a “Maid of Honor” dog biscuit from
Woofgang Bakery Austin and it made for a fun ‘getting ready’ moment! Also, it was so sweet – Kiley’s friends got her a special “knot” necklace from Tiffany and Co. and a ring holder from Kate Spade to celebrate her special elopement wedding day. I just loved arriving to their beautiful suite at The Driskill and seeing so many gorgeous details to help tell the story of the day! Side note – Josh & Kiley are Austin transplants from Louisiana and wanted to incorporate the Austin skyline (their new home) in the photos, so we went to the Lamar pedestrian bridge for photos after the ceremony at the Travis County Courthouse and it couldn’t have been a more fun way to end the day!
These are gorgeous! That story I love it sooo much. I am sure they love these. They look so happy together!!!
