Blessed. That’s what I kept feeling the other night at our going away gathering before we left Bakersfield last week. In the past 9 years we’ve moved 7 times and this was the first time that we’ve been able to establish roots and relationships…and the first time we’ve had more than a handful of people sad to see us go!
We were so lucky to have a private pizza cooking class at Sustenance 101 in downtown Bakersfield for a few close friends. It was possibly the perfect way to gather those that have meant so much to Eric and I to share in one last night of conversation, food and celebration (or possibly a few tears!). We love you guys and had a fantastic night of reminiscing!! I took my little party camera and wanted to share some of the shots I got with it…..not professional, but sometimes I gotta take a day off and just enjoy those around me 🙂 A huge thank you to owner, Seamus for his hospitality and kind words in hosting us and to Gimmee Some Sugar for making the coolest “bon voyage/birthday cake’!

I am so happy for you and the new life adventures coming your way… Since I heard the news I have been fighting away the selfish feelings to be sad. I’ll admit, I am still sad… but we will see each other soon. Besties forever! 🙂
I am also so excited for you and Eric and know that God is leading you both as you start new ventures. However, I also am sad that you will be farther away. Katelyn says, “Mom, you can always follow Jessica’s work on FB and online.” 🙂 As I always said,” Having Jessica be your wedding photographer is a special gift.” “And she can make dirt look good.”
