1) What is the best advice that was given to you when you started planning your wedding?
Do not settle for anything less than you want.
.
.
2) What is one thing you think every bride should know that you learned while planning your wedding?
Don’t stress over trying to make everyone happy, it’s your wedding and you can only do so much.
3) What were your wedding colors and is there a story behind why you chose them?
Blush, ivory, and gold. No story behind them, I just love the elegance of neutral colors but I wanted a little bit of color so I added the blush.
.
4) What’s your favorite detail you chose for your wedding that representing your love story?
The vintage Rolls Royce & the red carpet because our love story is straight out of a hollywood film (minus the divorce part, lol).
5) How long did you have to plan your wedding day?
11 months. We got engaged July 2012, but we didn’t set a date or start planning until January 2013 and we were married in November 2013.
.
6) Did you hire a wedding planner/day of coordinator? Was it worth the expense?
YES!!!! Best decision of my life. My family and bridal party didn’t have to worry about anything the day of besides enjoying the day. Shannon Hough Events is amazing and she took care of every last detail.
.
7) Is there anything you’d choose to do differently or have that you didn’t have?
Yes, I wish I would’ve done a first look. Because with having a fall wedding the sun sets early, we were in a race with time to get in the bride and groom photos. Although we got awesome shots, having the first look would’ve alleviated the rushing feeling after the ceremony and we would’ve gotten to enjoy cocktail hour with our guests.
.
8) How was Matt involved and was there something specific he wanted for your wedding day?
He wasn’t too involved, he let me plan the wedding of my dreams. But he did vote for the blush bridesmaids dresses because I originally wanted a champagne color. And he loved the groom cake I surprised him with!
.
.
9) What vendors were your top priority?
My coordinator Shannon Hough who was my right hand the whole time and helped me with everything
Jessica Frey photography because after everything is done all you have are her awesome pictures
House of Flowers because the florals were my main decor for both venues (church and reception)
.
10) Any other advice for brides/grooms planning their 2014/2015 weddings?
If you have an open bar, make sure to shut it down during dinner so your guest will actually sit down and eat! Other than that, make sure you have fun planning your wedding!
