1. What are your top 5 moments from your wedding day?
The top 5 moments from my wedding day were receiving a wedding gift the best man brought me from my husband before the ceremony, when my mom and grandma helped me get dressed (the veil and garter were made by my grandma), walking down the aisle with both my parents and my first glimpse of Matt at the altar, our first dance as husband and wife, and our sparkler exit leaving the ceremony!
2. How did you choose your colors?
We met in the month of September as well as began dating in September the following year, so it was very fitting to have Sapphire as one of our wedding colors. I love the simple elegance of white and silver as wedding colors, so the Sapphire complemented white, silver, and crystal accents perfectly.
3. Did you have a theme? How did you come up with it?
We didn’t have a theme. Since we have been together for 9 years, since highschool, we included a lot of pictures as decorations from throughout our relationship.
4. What advice do you have for brides planning their 2013 wedding?
The best advice I could give is to make your wedding about you. It is easy to get caught up in pleasing your guests, family, and bridal party, but this is a celebration of your love and relationship with your soul mate. Make sure to include accents and details that celebrate unique aspects of your life together. Personalize your wedding day and it will truly be an event you will never forget.
5. Where did you honeymoon?
We took a limo ride on our wedding night to Los Angeles. Then we left the next day for 7 days in Oahu. We stayed in Waikiki and spent the week traveling all over the island. We had relaxation days, we went hiking up diamond head and manoa falls, enjoyed scuba diving, and even encountered sea turtles right on the beaches of the North Shore! It was the perfect vacation to start of marriage together.
6. If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything?
I absolutely would not change one thing. Even if weddings don’t go EXACTLY as planned at the end of the day you are marrying your best friend. Nothing could replace the happiness that brings, it truly is the best day of your life.
