Last weekend, Eric and I took an early 7 year anniversary trip to Cambria to relax and get away! If I’d known I was going to be a wedding photographer 7 years ago, I probably wouldn’t have gotten married in June! J/K mom! But, knowing it’s the busy time of the year we decided to celebrate early and man did we enjoy just some time away, no computers…no working (even though working is so fun for me! lucky girl that I am). We enjoyed a gorgeous hotel/bed and breakfast right across the coastline and could not have been happier with our stay! If you get the chance, book a weekend at the Blue Dolphin Inn – adults only, specialy ordered picnic breakfast delivered to your room for you to enjoy on the front patio(smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels-canadian bacon and egg filled crossaunts-juice-boiled eggs-delicious blueberry muffins and more), fireplaces, amazing sounds of the ocean outside your window to lull you to sleep….man, it was amazing! The staff was great, we enjoyed their DVD collection and the special cake they gave us as a welcome/celebration surprise!
We also enjoyed Hearst Castle…wow what an amazing location and story! We booked a tour that had the majority of the tickets left to sell (you can check online) and it was fantastic. The tour in front of us had about 55 people, we had 10. Our tour guide was great, incredibly informative and it was as though we’d payed for a private tour. For those of you who have been, we did the Experiential tour to get the lay of the land and hear the history. I can’t believe we had such beautiful blue skies…perfect for the beautiful view of the pacific ocean and great for landscape photos! You know I had to take my camera….so here are some shots from my camera, our pocket camera, and even some iPhone shots!
Have a great weekend, enjoy your Freyday…and special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing brother-in-law, Andrew!!

Morning coffee and a good book, you bet! It was cold, so yes. I wore my Brookstone Nap snuggie….it was glorious. And well worth the stares from people walking by! haha!

We had lunch one day at the beautiful Cambria Pines Lodge…their gardens are amazing!! And also a beautiful location for a wedding!
An evening of pizza while watching the sunset on the hotel patio! Oh, and our one-legged seagull friend, Albert.
A wonderful trip I’m glad I can look back on….have a great weekend!

What wonderful photographs! I LOVE Cambria. And I totally love all the images you took. Looks like you had fun! And your snuggie makes me want to get myself a snuggie!
