Hi guys! It’s FREYday!! My mom and I were talking recently about how life has been an adventure and has taken me in places I never expected! She mentioned the above photo which I took while living in DC in 2007 when Eric was deployed to Iraq for his second tour. I had signed up for a Digital Photography 101 Class since I had always enjoyed taking photos and wanted to learn this ‘new’ digital SLR camera stuff! My assignment was to take the above photo – and I can tell you my dad or mom, one of them was holding a blue Styrofoam board up next to our kitchen table while the other was holding a lamp above the glass juuuuust so the light would hold perfectly all while I was trying to figure out how to use my new Nikon D70 and the exposure triangle we’d recently been taught about! 🙂 I was pretty proud of that shot and realized that I may actually be onto something after completing my course each week at the US Grad School and enjoying every moment of learning about photogrpahy. I got great feedback from my teacher and peers and during that year of my life, I realized I had found my passion!
So, I’d love to take today’s Freyday post to let you guys see some of my assignments from my photography 101 class and what brought me to where I am today – it’s amazing how much has changed in the lsat 5 years and I couldn’t be more proud of myself and blessed to get to do this everyday as my carear!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little journey down memory lane with me!! Have a great weekend and Labor Day celebrations!

Thanks, Meg! Hope you’re doing well!
oh, the closeup flower photo! I have a lot of those too. 😉 You dandelion photo is actually rather deep… you can interpret a lot of meaning behind it. I like it! So glad you started this journey and met me along the way. 🙂
