Hi Everyone! Before I left on my Tx/FL vacation last week, I had the opportunity to photograph my wonderful husband for a quick military feature in our local Bakersfield Life Magazine (check out the October issue!). I’ve always seen the USMC billboards and ad campaigns the past few years and thought…I can do that! I may be a natural light photographer, but I could probably manage to figure it out – use the tools that I do have and see what I can come up with. So, with a willing (‘You’ve got 10 min.”) husband who is my amazing rock and a supporter behind my fun ‘lets try this’ ideas, I set up shop in my living room and tried my best. I’d like to share with you what I came up with – 3 of my favorites and then if you scroll down, you’ll get a good laugh at my set up and how it was accomplished.
On a side note, since Freyday blogs are a bit more on the personal side, can I just say that although we may be living a ‘civilian’ life by living off a Marine Corps base, I am so thankful and proud to be married to a Marine and have enjoyed so much where we’ve had the privilege of living all over the country the past 7 years. Bakersfield has become home and I’m so glad we’ll be here for quite some time!
**Captain Frey, you are oh, so handsome!

Love the pictures…My favorite is the living room. Not just because your pillows holding up your lights but you captured a great smile and less serious Marine!! Love it!!
Awesome! Great pics as usual my friend! See you both in a few hours 🙂
This is great stuff! Loved seeing your set-up and how you accomplished it. Kayla did a good job making sure the photos came out.
Wow…I’m impressed.
Great job, Jessica! Use whatchya got!
