I promised Kelli & Dustin I would sneak peek photos of their wedding today, so here are just a few….it being a holiday and all, I’ve got firework photos for you and all next week (Monday and Wednesday) I’ll do full blog posts from their fun wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas!
Congratulations you two – big hugs!!! -Jessica
1) Use a tripod! (longer exposures – hand shake will make all of your images blurry!)
2) Use manual mode! That way you have complete control on shutter speed, etc.
3) Start with your shutter speed around 1.5 min. and depending on your firework show height, length of time in the air move that time up or back
4) In order to get crisp sparks use a f-stop of 8 or if a ton of fireworks are together and the scene is brighter, drop it down to about f/11
5) Focus manually – turn off your auto focus and grab a spot nearby the fireworks to make sure everything is tack sharp (also why we don’t shoot wide open!)
6) ISO – keep it low! With the use of a tripod, you can stick around 200
7) Play around and have fun!!
**Disclaimer, I did not have a tripod with me at Disney World, so I used an extremely high ISO to push my aperture to 2.8 and fixed noise in post processing 🙂
