My grandma means the world to me. Today’s post is for my family and for me to remember…last night while I was finishing up shooting the wedding in Arizona, she peacefully passed away to be with God. She said it was time to see Don (my amazing grandpa who passed away a year ago) and that she was ready to go. I always enjoyed seeing my grandparents together and loved seeing them hold hands through 58 years of marriage. They truly had the kind of love that is everlasting and is the same kind of love for each other I see in the Notebook’s Allie and Noah.
My grandma: was a flight nurse during WWII, was the quintisential military officer’s wife, was an amazing cook, passed on her love of sparkles, shiny things and diamonds to me, loved Swarovski crystal figurines, was the person I would run to with open arms as a child anytime I got to see her, is who I’m named after, made my dresses as a little girl, painted my nails for me every time I would come visit, always wore lipstick, always had an english muffin and coffee for breakfast, beat breast cancer, beat thyroid cancer, beat her stroke, had Alzheimer’s and still knew my voice when I got to say goodbye to her yesterday morning over the phone……..was my hero.
My photography office/business is closed while I go home to Texas to be with my family and reflect on the amazing life she led. She’s with my grandpa and Jesus now and I couldn’t be more excited for her. I ask you to pray for my family this week while we celebrate her life and I will return emails & messages when I get back to the office.

I am so sorry Jessica. I can’t help but smile at the same time though when I see these photos and hear how you talk about your grandma! What an amazing woman! Hope you’re hanging in there!
Jess, your grandmother seemed like an amazing woman and she was beautiful – just like you! I’ll be thinking about you this week. Much love for you and your family.

So so sorry jessica, I too was close to my grandma Lola, who passed from a long a rough battle of breast cancer, may your family find peace in knowing she is now with the Lord, and her love for eternity…<3
