Austin Vendor Spotlight – Blackhorn Buses

Hi there! It’s time for another installment of Austin Wedding Vendor Spotlight!  I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with wedding vendors in Austin who take care of my couples and those planning weddings!  Today, let’s look at transportation.  I’ve noticed a pattern, especially for Texas Hill Country wedding where couples are choosing to bus their entire wedding guests from hotels downtown out to Dripping Springs.  If you’ve visited out there, you know the roads are windy, dark at night and not the safest after an evening of drinking, so the safe choice is to provide transportation for your guests!  You also may encounter needing a party bus or limousine to get you around for a bachelorette/bachelor party or to transport family for a fun rehearsal dinner. Blackhorn Buses – For more information Click Here How can you sift through and narrow down the selection of transportation companies out there? There are seemingly endless choices to scroll through when you initially search for options on Google. There are some things you can look out for on the website of potential providers. Does the website look like it was made around the turn of the century? Is it hard to navigate and get information? If a company can’t put in the effort to provide a great experience for you on the web, they probably aren’t putting the latest and greatest features in their vehicles, either. Are there any other ways to ensure a transportation provider is trustworthy before booking? The best plan of action for getting the best transportation experience is to visit companies and look at their vehicles in person. Not...
Camp Lucy Wedding – Dan & Ashley

Camp Lucy Wedding – Dan & Ashley

This Camp Lucy wedding was an extra special one for me as it was my dear friend Ashley O’Bryan’s wedding day as she said “I Do” to Dan on the front lawn at Ian’s Chapel!  We met a few years ago working a wedding at Ian’s Chapel since she’s also an incredible wedding coordinator and owner of Much Ado Austin!  We instantly hit it off and have been dear friends ever since and I was just so overjoyed to be able to capture the day for her and celebrate!   Being a wedding vendor and knowing Camp Lucy so well, Ashley chose a more intimate wedding for family and friends and had an outdoor/under the Pavllion reception and it was just perfect – one LOOOOONG family table, beautifully decorated by Whim Hospitality!    Ash & Dan – We love you and I am so grateful to have been a part of your special day!! This First Look at Camp Lucy’s Ian’s chapel area was everything! I was so excited to try out a different location for their first look moment and was soooo happy!  And because we wanted to be a bit silly and let Dan have his ‘star wars’ moment, I brought my son’s masks and Kim brought light sabers and we had a fun moment:  Ashley’s a wedding coordinator and owns Much Ado Austin and has probably run way too many weddings to count at Ian’s Chapel, so she opted for a ceremony location idea that was fresh and fun! I loved that it was timed perfectly for the sun as it was setting behind the big...

El Matador Beach Engagement Photos – Matt & Hanna

Congratulations Matt & Hanna on the next adventure of your lives as you plan to share forever together!! I am so thankful that our paths crossed in Austin and can’t believe the small world this is that we have friends in common!! Matt actually went to high school in Thousand Oaks, CA with my brother-in-law and I’ve photographed several of his friends’s engagement/weddings!  A California couple, they’re actually getting married in Austin this summer at one of my favorite Texas Hill Country venues, Pecan Springs Ranch! Thank you for meeting me in California and any chance I get to travel and photograph couples in meaningful locations, my photography heart is happy!  Matt actually proposed to Hanna on the beach in Malibu! I was so happy to go back to El Matador State Beach which is where I did my Little Mermaid styled wedding shoot for Disney Weddings!! (wanna check that out? scroll back up here and click here: http://jessicafreyphotographyblog.com/the-little-mermaid-inspired-teal-coral-wedding ) Here’s a look at some of my favorites – we had the most perfect (warm) beach weather and the love and silliness and giggles and smiles made for a perfect afternoon!   Rivalry? What rivalry? Love that these two have a healthy competitive spirit 😉  Funny sidenote – if you followed our adventures this day on my Instagram Stories (@jessicafreyphotography) you saw the absolutely rediculousness of the amout of photo shoots happening on the beach!  Our favorite was these two guys doing a swimsuit photo shoot so we just had to capture it and share it with you all….   Ok, back to these two being super cute and in LOVE!...

The Venue at Waterstone Dallas Wedding Reception – Jerod & Kiersten

Looking for a beautiful, Texas barn wedding?  Look no further!  Kiersten & Jerod chose The Venue at Waterstone in Celina, Tx (North of Dallas) to bring their family and friends together for a day of celebration as they said I Do for forever!  With the Texas heat in the summertime, the indoor ceremony and reception was perfect and the transformation during Cocktail Hour/pictures was seamless and beautiful!   Since the bride herself is a wedding coordinator for Altar Ego Weddings, I knew it would be just perfect – and it was! Enjoy a look at part 2 of Jerod & Kiersten’s wedding day below and make sure to leave them some comment love!  You don’t want to miss a photo-bomb by Swany, their gorgeous 28-person wedding party, the Last Dance or sparkler exit!! Having a private Last Dance while you’re guests line up and prep for your exit? Sounds like perfection in my book! btw – there were cookies in here.  I may have grabbed 5 bags left at the end of the night.  SO delicious and thoughtful!  Lesson 1: Do not light an entire handful of sparklers all at once.   Glad he’s okay! Hazzah!!!!   The happy parents ‘end of the wedding’ photo may be my new favorite to make happen! Love it!  Here is Part 1 in case you missed it: The Venue at Waterstone Dallas Wedding – Jerod & Kiersten   VENDORS: Location: The Venue at Waterstone           Coordinator: Altar Ego Weddings (Kiersten/Heidi) Wedding Dress:  BHLDN, Willowby by Watters Rosalind  Bridesmaid Dresses:  Jenny Yoo for BHLDN  Annabelle (Seaglass ) Hair:  Diana...

You can’t wait until the day you can leave all the overwhelming details behind and hop on a plane to your dream destination. The only thing holding you back is your handsome groom has no idea where to start and doesn’t want to make the wrong decisions. Fear not! Set your man up for success and recommend he use a travel advisor. 1. How does the process work?     To start, I will want to have a thorough conversation about what you both envision for your honeymoon. We will discuss destination ideas, activity preferences, budget, and dates. From this conversation I will begin to put together recommendations for you. 2. What’s the first step? Although every honeymoon has its unique characteristics, generally I recommend booking your flights first. If your dates are flexible, confirming your flights first...
