Austin Wedding Vendor Spotlight – Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy

Austin Wedding Vendor Spotlight – Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy

Hello friends! I’m so excited to share another wedding vendor spotlight on my dear friend Jesilyn Kay, owner of Jesilyn Kay Calligraphy!   This super talented business woman is located here in Austin, Texas and has become a dear friend through the Rising Tide Society.  If you’re one of my 2018 couples you’ll recognize some of her work from your beautiful handmade welcome gifts!  If you’re looking for unique and custom gift ideas, read this interview and make sure to check out her website and etsy shops (links down below!) What sort of services do you provide? As a designer and calligrapher, I can provide all of your paper goods and signage needs. This includes custom wedding invitations and save the dates, envelope addressing, place cards, welcome signs, menu signs, any signage or paper goods you might need, I can create it for you. How long have you been doing this and why are you drawn to it? I’ve always been a creative person, I was the one doodling in my notebook during class, and I love creating things with my hands. I went to school for graphic design and after working in the industry for a few years after college I began to create a lot of hand lettered posters and designs. It was so fun for me to create my own letters instead of use computer fonts and I knew I had to try learning calligraphy. I took a few courses and fell head over heels in love with the art. I didn’t want to do anything else but practice and practice for hours.  After a few months...

Austin Vendor Spotlight – Blackhorn Buses

Hi there! It’s time for another installment of Austin Wedding Vendor Spotlight!  I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with wedding vendors in Austin who take care of my couples and those planning weddings!  Today, let’s look at transportation.  I’ve noticed a pattern, especially for Texas Hill Country wedding where couples are choosing to bus their entire wedding guests from hotels downtown out to Dripping Springs.  If you’ve visited out there, you know the roads are windy, dark at night and not the safest after an evening of drinking, so the safe choice is to provide transportation for your guests!  You also may encounter needing a party bus or limousine to get you around for a bachelorette/bachelor party or to transport family for a fun rehearsal dinner. Blackhorn Buses – For more information Click Here How can you sift through and narrow down the selection of transportation companies out there? There are seemingly endless choices to scroll through when you initially search for options on Google. There are some things you can look out for on the website of potential providers. Does the website look like it was made around the turn of the century? Is it hard to navigate and get information? If a company can’t put in the effort to provide a great experience for you on the web, they probably aren’t putting the latest and greatest features in their vehicles, either. Are there any other ways to ensure a transportation provider is trustworthy before booking? The best plan of action for getting the best transportation experience is to visit companies and look at their vehicles in person. Not...
