Pecan Springs Ranch – Texas Hill Country Wedding Venue

Pecan Springs Ranch – Texas Hill Country Wedding Venue

What a fun (slightly rainy) day I had at the Pecan Springs Ranch wedding Open House this past weekend!  The oh so talented team there and Paige Smith of Pure. Love. Style. brought together some amazing Austin wedding vendors and had a “Flamingo” themed event.  It was such a fun, creative, fresh theme that we all had fun incorporating into our tables.  For couples already getting married at Pecan Springs Ranch, it was a great opportunity to see how things could be set up as well as speak to preferred vendors!  It was also an awesome opportunity for new couples looking for the perfect venue to come check it out!  Here’s a look at a few photos of the reception (air-conditioned) room and table decor!  Thanks again PSR for having me – I’m looking forward to coming back in 2017 for some more amazing weddings! Other vendor friends I loved getting to see: Catering:  The Peached Tortilla (kimchee rice balls?! SO good!), Pok-e-Jo’s (They had a mac n cheese bar you guys!)  Verde’s Catering Floral:  Pure. Love. Wedding and Engagement Ring Photos

Wedding and Engagement Ring Photos

Some people get excited about College Football season (Gig’em Aggies!) or hunting season or a new season of So You Think You Can Dance (YES!!).  My fellow wedding vendor colleagues refer to this timeframe between Christmas and Valentine’s Day as Engagement season!  So many sweet couples get engaged over the holidays and I look forward every year to seeing which couples I’ll get to meet and be a part of their special day.  Since it’s the week of Christmas and it’s been an amazing year with last weekend being the last wedding of 2015 (Congrats Long & Tiffany!)  I’m taking off the next two weeks to celebrate with family and friends. With that in mind, I thought I’d create a blog post that could be useful for any of you ladies out there (or gentlemen) who are looking to see just what kind of engagement ring and wedding rings you’re looking for!  I know 12 years ago when I got engaged, the three stone ring was HUGE.  Now, gold is making a comeback as are pave settings and vintage settings!  I’ve gathered some of my favorite ring photos from the past 2 years to give you some help and inspiration! ** side note for my fellow photographers, all the detail photos are taken with my trusty Nikon 55mm manual focus film lens! Congratulations to anyone getting engaged!! If you or your friend is going to be planning a 2016 wedding, I would love to be recommended in the Austin area or you guys know I’m always up for traveling!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Hawaii Wedding – Honolulu Waikiki Bride & Groom

Happy Anniversary to Shana & Chris!! I can’t believe over a year ago we were saying Aloha and celebrating their beautiful Honolulu Waikiki wedding day!  It was full of family, laughter and celebration and I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to capture it for them!  Shana and Chris are from Hawaii and planned their wedding day while living in California. After a year of marriage, I asked these two a few questions for future couples out there planning their wedding day, especially for destination weddings and this is their advice: 1) What is the best advice that was given to you when you started planning your wedding? Don’t wait to book your venue. We had our hearts set on our venue and ended up moving our date because the date we wanted was already taken.   2) What is one thing you think every bride and/or groom should know that you learned while planning your wedding? Get a planner, especially if you are having a destination wedding. Having our wedding in Hawaii and getting a planner early on really helped us to stay on track and make sure that all of the little details that we didn’t know about, our planner was able to make sure was taken care of. Our planner made a strict timeline that we stuck to, from sending invites to booking vendors, and it really made everything go smoothly. Also, having a team there on the day of to direct all of the vendors gave us the chance to really sit back and enjoy the day.   3) What were your wedding colors and...

I am so excited to showcase local Austin wedding planner, coordinator and stylist Ashley O’Bryan!  I had the pleasure of working a wedding with her on Valentine’s Day at the beautiful Camp Lucy for Ryann & James’ wedding and we had so much fun working together!  Ashley was always on top of things during our planning process and took care of everyone so well the day of the wedding I just knew I had to get to know her better!  I’m so thankful she let me interview her and do a fun portrait session this week out at Camp Lucy’s vineyards and glamping area!  Grab a coffee, relax and enjoy some great answers for those of you planning your wedding or events! Much Ado Austin Business website: www.muchadoaustin.com Business email: ashley@muchadoaustin.com Instagram: @muchadoaustin What’s your favorite part about helping plan/coordinate a couple’s wedding day? A: I love seeing the vision for the day really come together. From a color palette to a surprise encore song, getting to be a part of the biggest day in a family’s life is really an honor. Do you have any fun/memorable wedding concepts you’ve helped create? A: This past spring, I helped a bride & close friend with her wedding and we came up with the theme of “Forest Gully” as she really wanted to pull in lush textures & rich colors of the Pacific Northwest (where she is originally from) and blend them with rustic, luxe touches. The final looks was amazing, and it was also pretty special to see one of my friends marry her best friend.   How many weddings have you...
