Another Freyday is here, and I hope you’re all having a great day! It also happens to be Good Friday and for my ODC family….Sunday’s coming! I’m getting ready to host Easter at our house this year for my in-laws and kind of enjoy being suzy homemaker for at least 1 or 2 days out of the year! I’ve decided my menu consists of my aunt Shelly’s Missy Potato casserole, the gorgeous Honey Baked Ham my mother-in-law dropped off yesterday, green beans, hawiian rolls…and the kicker, Butter Beer! I found a recipe online that should duplicate the yummy cream soda and butterscotch foam drink I had at Harry Potter world earlier this year, so I’ll let you guys know how that goes!
Since I have a packed schedule for blog posts coming up, I wanted to do another installment of Real Weddings ( I know Wedding Wednesday had a ring to it, but for now I’m making it a Freyday Wedding day) Here are real wedding questions answered by Ashley, who is marrying her fabulous fiancee Matt here in Bakersfield this June! I had an amazing time getting to know these two on out trip out to Tobin James Winery a few months ago. Their love for one another was infectious and if you want to see more from their glitter-filled awesome session visit here: Matt and Ashley’s Engagement Session. Enjoy, and future brides out there starting the planning process…are there any other questions you’d like me to ask my brides?
Early June 2011 at the Seven Oaks Country Club in Bakersfield California.
Keeping within our budget!!!!
I took my mom, sisters (who are bridesmaids) and niece (who is the flower girl, age 7). We spent hours looking for the right dress with no success. When all seemed lost my niece picked out her favorite and like in a Hollywood move it was the dress of my dreams. In this dress I will be the princess my soon to be husband knows I am.
My mom has helped me a lot during the planning process. It has been great spending time with her. I love her.
My son (age 8), my soon to be husband and I am doing a sand ceremony during which we mix three colors of sand in a crystal vase. This signifies our family joining as one. I can’t wait to see what we will make together.
The Who. The When . The Where. Who is going to come. When is the big day. Where will the ceremony and reception be.
I am excited to see the face of my soon to be husband when he sees me walk down the aisle. I love him!!
Hot pink, black and BLING!!! Pink is my main color.
Get a videoagrapher and do crazy lighting. But most importantly we would stop stressing about the little things.
Start planning yesterday. You can not start too early. We have been planning for over a year and feel as if we just started. Set a path and stay on it.
Thank you Ashley for sharing some of your planning advice with future brides! Looking forward to your big day and all the bling that I get to photograph!!
*If you’ve made it this far, your reward is the news that next week’s Freyday has some bling of it’s own being given away! That’s right, the bling camera ring is back and I’m giving another one away in celebration of the Royal Wedding and my birthday weekend!! So, make sure you come back to enter to win a ring! Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Easter celebrations! Jesus has Risen!
